The DA-BFAR’s Philippine Fisheries and Coastal Resiliency (FishCoRe) Project conducts its Midyear Review and Assessment for the fiscal year 2024 from July 30 to August 2, 2024 in Quezon City.
In his message during the opening program, Assistant Director for Administrative Services Zaldy P. Perez reminded the workforce of the importance of the activity as they navigate towards successful project implementation.
“This week’s activity is not all about pointing out nonconformities in our efforts, but also about implementing corrective actions to address the gaps in our implementation. It is through such diligent assessments and proactive measures that we can maintain and improve our standards in serving the Filipino fisherfolk,” he said.
During the activity, the working groups presented their accomplishments and status of obligations in terms of the Work and Financial Plan to assess the progress of the project.
The activity was joined by other officials from other implementing partner government agencies, the National Fisheries Research and Development Institute (NFRDI) and the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) of the Department of Agriculture.
The FishCoRe Project is a seven-year project in collaboration with the World Bank, which aims to improve management of fishery resources and enhance value of fisheries production in target areas, Fisheries Management Areas 6 and 9.
